For everyday travel, what matters is that the backpack sits close to the back, protects the laptop and stands up well to regular use. Urban and cycling styles work well here, with water-resistant fabric, reflective details and transfer branding on the front panel, which still looks clean.
Check the empty weight and the real capacity before you decide. A very large anti theft laptop backpack, or one with too many extras, often gets used less if it is only carrying a laptop and a few essentials; for prolonged rain, water-repellent is not the same as waterproof.
